Realigning purposes to god

Have been thinking and contemplating quite a lot recently. About the importance of things around me, “in dust, god has created me, in dust shall I depart. So what is the purpose of men and women living in this universe.

A common purpose binds friends together. As my Assistant manager puts it, “ She found that her friends get lesser as she age. Being inquisitive, I ask her for the reasons and she says that, as we grow up, with different purpose and agenda, friends just meet up less often and slowly fades into the background.

Personally, I feel that what she says make sense, I think I would appreciate having to share some similar interest, passion with my friends. And in so doing, it helped to binds us together as friends. I tot to myself, how lucky am i to be in central unity with all the worshippers of God. That gave us a common platform to start off with. Indeed, Placing god should be the central of my life and aligning my purpose to him is so very important. For it is 100% man and 100% God. All things might seems impossible, But everything is possible with God, who created the heaven and the earth.

I trust and put my faith in him and I believe that the lord would continue to use me to accomplish great things. However in order to do so, I should be able to take care of all the small details of my life. Indeed, I think that I have always been very careless in missing out the miniscule details in my life. I know that personally I am not someone very conscientious. However, I believe in the almighty power. I believe my habitual self discipline would allow me to be more conscientious and take care of the details.

I believe that my current job does help me to prepare and serves as a basic foundation of what I am going to do in the future. I feel so inspired by the movie that I watch with my cell group on Thursday. “Facing the giants”, is really such a good movie that I strongly recommend u to watch it.

Lessons that my cell leaders consolidated from our cell group

11 lessons from the movie - Facing the Giants
1) “With God, all things are possible.”
2) “Leaders are influential and can make a difference in another’s life.”
3) “There is power in prayer.”
4)“Be encouraging, and never demeaning.”
5) “Be skilful and let others know about your God.”
6) “To reach an objective, first set the objective.”
7) “Give thanks to God in all circumstances.”
8) “Aligning ourselves to God helps us face the giants in our life.”
9) “Do your best, and leave the results to God.”
10) “When you reach rock bottom, the only way is Up.”
11) “Pray for rain, and prepare for rain.”

-obtained from my cell leader-

Indeed, the movie opened up my view on the divergent of views that one can have, impact on a movie on different people. Each of us has a perspective, with no right or wrong answer. It is just like seeing different parts of a picture, and when u pieces them together, you get a holistic view.

Appreciate my creative cell leader for the movie!! Thanks rennie.

Yating had finally recovered!!! Praise god for allowing her to recover. I took the advice of Miss Teo and went to see the doctor the second time. Sometimes I feel disturbed in seeing one, coz I think I have the mentality that I am strong and will recover soon. Maybe my mind have been conditioned in that way since National service. Alas, I recognized that I have been sick for 9 days and the impending consequences of being sick for another couple of days seems to be too much to take. Well, pray for me, pray that I would have a speedy recovery.

Xide was really nice. He came back all the way from Malaysia in order to help me with touch kids tomorrow. When all things seems difficult and impossible, god make a way for me. Thanks god and thanks Xide. Always appreciate people making the extra mile for me. His kindness shall remains in my memories.

Plans for the future

It has been a long time since I last blog. Well, Just didn’t feel that I have the time to do so. But well, I am prompted to do so today.

Today, Miss Teo show me a newspaper article on someone who overworks and passed away. It is really sad that someone as young as 29, with such a strong mentality to do well in her work after getting into a top 500 MNC, would passed away. Indeed, I hang on to my belief that being passionate and zealous about something is important and still I believe in going the extra mile for my friends, families or work. Thanks for bringing to my attention on overdoing it. Yes.. Sometimes, just I would need the gentle reminder not to overdo it.

I find myself to be a person with principalities, who like to be given boundaries yet with certain degree of autonomy. I like to be guided in the things that I am doing. That is the skeleton of a certain purpose or agenda in mind. That would suffice and I would prefer to do the rest, instead of being inspected on a per minute basis.

I think I treasures values, my ideas on what is good and godly values. I like to hang on to them. However, conflicts usually arise as and when my close ones can’t perform up to my expectations. It seems like there is a struggle in my inner man in trying to love them and not to fault them on the things and paths they have chosen. Perhaps, I should read up more and talk to people more on conflict management. True, I have tried to focus on the subject instead of the person when dealing with issues. But it seems hard as the 2 things seem to intertwine together.

Well, recently, my dreams, aspirations, ambition has not fades away. I am definitely grateful and happy in my current job. However, all things do not seem perfect. Indeed, there is no perfection in this world. Still, I hang on to my dreams and beliefs. What the mind can conceive and perceive, it can achieved. I would like to fulfilled my purpose and calling of my life.

My current plan is, for the next ten years, I would want to be able to be a fund manager, managing the risk and portfolio of equity and companies. I would like to have the autonomy to search for undervalued stocks and equity and buy them when it is low and selling them when it is high. However, my dreams and ambition does not end here. I would desire to set up a child mentoring centers, from the eleven years onwards, mentoring and teaching the children based on godly values and principalities. By then, I believe that I would have the capital to set up the mentoring centre that I would like to have. I believe that the future generation should be educated since young. With an innate desire to bring out the best in them, I hope for a great generation ahead that would be blessed with the fruits of the spirit. All things are possible with God. I believe god with my plans. Miss Teo, I believe that she would be an experienced social worker by then and would be able to aid out by plans for the 11th year onwards.

I will continue to be proactive in the things I do and make learning my habitual activity.
I thank god for the plans that he has placed in me and I will take up the faith that I would be able to succeed all these plans that I have.
