Yes, I didn’t say that teaching would be easy. Instead, from my one month of school experience in JJC, I know that it would not be easy. The difficulty currently lies in the preparation work and in presenting my ideas in such a way that will allow my students to learn. Indeed, I would love to work on my skill sets and improve on my communication skills and allow ideas and knowledge to be transfer effectively to my student.
Personally, I am engaged by games. I know that I am excited when I play game and I think I love to win when it comes to playing games. It is indeed exciting when games are played and I can get excited so easily. Hehe. Perhaps I can incorporate some games into my teaching to enable student to feel excited as well.
Secondly, the preparation of the materials is indeed the key. In order to be a good and effective teacher, I need to know the materials inside out. In order to have a better, wholesome picture, I have decided to do concept maps for my economics modules. In order to link concepts and theories together, perhaps I should work on it at least once per 2 days.
Thirdly, even if u are embodied with knowledge, the next important task is that I am able to communicate to my fellow students and translate my knowledge into their knowledge. Personally I think this need effective communication and articulation and Fun. In order to prepare for that, I will tune in to 930 pm for Channel 5 news to work on presentation skill, in additional, every morning, tune in to Channel News Asia. (If possible). Next I will read up books on Presentation skills and see what the areas that I need to work on are. Last but not least, I need to speak to myself and others, especially in group to enhance on my skill sets.
