Results: Your cumulative score is between 20 and 40, out of the worst-possible score of 100. You have generally good vocal health habits and have been blessed with a robust larynx that generally stands up well to the demands of teaching. We suspect you notice when you over-do it, but you recover quickly. Wouldn't you like to learn ways to vocalize without soreness or fatigue on days when you must talk frequently? Knowing that teachers are at high risk for developing voice disorders, you will likely also want to learn strategies to prevent vocal injuries.
You will begin learning in the Media Center, where you'll become familiar with amplification systems for classroom use. Later in your journey, you'll learn about the inter-relationship of overall health and voice, theatre voice techniques, and how to gauge the vocal friendliness of your classroom acoustics. Why not start learning now?
